SMSwatchdog* modules use the global GSM/3GPP cellular mobile network infrastructure and allow long-distance interactions with electrical devices.
For maximum practical usability, SMSwatchdog* mini-alarm systems
- can be used with any standard off-the-shelf mobile phone – acting as a remote control
- use SMS messages for interactive communication
Made in Germany – for DIY enthusiasts and makers
The SMSwatchdog-SW2 is a member of the SMSwatchdog* family of cellular mini-alarm systems. The SW2 is focused on binary monitoring and alerting users about detected events. Typical events to be observed are
- access to a room through an entry door, open a window
- movement of an (electrical) object, e.g. a car
- removal of an object, e.g. a display item
- bulk good or liquids inside a container reaching a certain threshold level, e.g. in a water tank
- flooding, e.g. of a laundry room
Detection of such events will tigger an alert message to the user who has armed the SMSwatchdog* device. The SMSwatchdog-SW2 offers two independent event detection channels – to be configured and armed/disarmed for different alarm types. For example, you can use one for access control (e.g. an opened door), the other one for flood sensing.
